Model Life Takes Shanghai Photo Contest starts today!

I’m holding a Model Life Takes Shanghai Photo Contest! Starts TODAY ends 9/2!

The fashion illustration by Jazmin Ruotolo in the Model Life series is such a fun, beautiful twist for the graphic novel world. In Model Life Takes Shanghai, I love how Zell's style is so chill and relaxed, cute but also has an edge. I love her signature black jacket, tall boots, and her slouchy tops that reveal some shoulder!

So, with signature fashion pieces in mind, I'm holding a fashion and accessories photo-contest!

Tag me on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook, a photo of your favorite clothing ensemble or accessory + share how/why it defines your style or holds a special meaning to you.

Three winners will receive signed prints of the cover of Model Life Takes Shanghai + a free downloads to Model Life Takes Shanghai from the ComicsPlus app (AND free downloads of the first episode Model Life Takes Fashion week if you don't have it).

The top winner also receives a copy of the book Shanghai Posters: The Power of Advertising, which shares models in vintage Shanghai advertisements, which I picked up at the MET after going to the China Look the Looking Glass exhibit.

Your photo could be anything you love to wear, a pair of earrings, your favorite jacket, your favorite go-to heels, your grandmothers dainty watch, a bracelet you always wear. Tag me, and share a story about why it's a signature or special piece in your closet, memory and everyday life. You can submit more than once.

This Vivienne Tam jacket is one of my favorite items in my closet, not only because it's been fun to dress up or down from day to night (it's seen plenty of late nights and has a stain to prove it, it also had longer sleeves but some gum or gunk was attached to sleeve and had to shorten it) but mostly it will stay in my closet for years because it reminds me of my determination to strive. I bought it when I was struggling as a model and really shouldn't have spent the money on something new. But the beauty and delicate features of this jacket made me feel pretty, classy, professional and ready!
